Confused between paying for a course on coursera, udemy for certificate?

Have you ever been confused between paying for a course on coursera, udemy for certificate or downloading it from internet for free.

"One good Project is always superior than 5 certificates". With zero knowledge of C and a keen interest to learn it, I looked upon the internet for the courses offered by some websites which I found paid.

In reality, many students
take up these paid courses just to procure the certificate later but unfortunately there are also many students who can't even offered to pay for these courses which would lead them to get certified. But is all the hassle necessary to pay and procure when there is a plan B?

"Suppose there are two students, A and B. A has no certificate of any paid course but has done a couple of good projects. In contrast B has 5 paid certificates but haven't done any project". Now who is the dominant? clearly it's A.

I am not saying that the certificate you get after completion is of no use. Think why we started, our prime motive is to gain knowledge, getting certified is secondary.

So here's the conclusion "Gaining Knowledge must be the first priority irrespective of the fact to get certificate ".

Happy Learning!!
