6 Common Mistakes made in CVs !
Here is what we're finding mistakes in thousands of cvs:
1. Summary: CV should have a short summary of your experience, skills, achievements, so that a recruiter need not read the full cv. 3-4 Bullet points at the top of the CV can summarize it.
2. Length: CV should have most of your work details on page 1. Recruiters may not scroll to the second half of page 1, leave alone page 2.
3. Format: PDF cvs or CVs with images are not compatible with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), only word versions work.
4. Description: work experiences should be described in a few bullet points, most resumes have too long descriptions.
5. Evidences: most cvs have evidences missing, evidences to prove your skills, it could be your work portfolio or specific details which are quantified, highlighting achievements.
6. Customization: you need to customize your cv to every job description you apply to, highlight relevant skills & experiences. It is a good practice to have multiple versions of your cv.
A Cv is the most important part of your application, please spend time & effort on it.
